Not to be confused with modern overseas Epiphone iterations, this roundneck Hound Dog was expertly made in the USA with a solid maple body, neck, and slab maple fretboard.<br>This single cone resonator features a spider bridge, delivering plenty of plucky punch and a crisp, bold tone. The round neck design makes this Dobro a great candidate for slide work or fretting, and the all maple construction gives the instrument a distinct articulation and treble snap. The instrument has a smooth bark without being overly bright on its own merits, while a metal or glass slide can add the appropriate extra top end cut to taste. There’s also a richness and depth to the sound, not always present with maple.<br>The maple neck has a modestly slender C shaped profile at the nut, gaining significant heft and roundness as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .825” deep at the 1st fret and 1.080“ at the 9th. The slab maple fretboard features black dot inlay, professionally refretted with slender fretwire that has plenty of height and crown, playing cleanly in every register up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted truss rod and 12 frets clear of the body. The scale length is 24 3/4“, the nut measures 1 3/4“, and string spacing at the bridge is 2 1/16“. The slotted headstock features the Original Hound Dog decal on the front and Dobro decal on the back, with stock strip tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The serial number is stamped on the top of the peghead, dating to 1993.<br>The resonator cover plate and trapeze tailpiece have bright, clean chrome plating, and the Sunburst gloss lacquer finish on the body highlights the maple grain<br>Shipping<br>Orders are shipped worldwide via FedEX and USPS with tracking information included.
